SMA founder and president is Rich Hunter, who oversees all company operations. Rich has 35 years of executive management experience in the sports, recreation, nonprofit and corporate environments, including nearly 12 years with the NCAA. Pam Broyles, Vice President and Principal, oversees the firm’s administrative and financial services. Pam has nearly 30 years of sports and nonprofit administrative experience, most notably from the NCAA national office, where she served as executive assistant to the first three executive directors in the NCAA’s history. Additionally, she served in the championships, administration and finance departments. Pam joined the SMA staff in January of 2000.

Brett Hunter, Managing Director of Sports Operations and a Principal, oversees operational and marketing aspects of all SMA clients. He joined the SMA staff on a full-time basis in 2005 after serving in a number of part-time capacities at SMA since 1994. Previously, he was director of operations for the ABA Kansas City Knights from 2004-2005.

Matt Cyphers, Managing Director and Principal of KC Sport Speed (KCSS), oversees all operations of our sports performance and training division. He previously served as program director of KCSS prior to SMA’s acquisition of KCSS in August 2008. He is a certified athletic trainer and holds B.S. & M.S. degrees from Emporia State University.

Michelle Pond, Senior Associate, coordinates publications, media services and program services for SMA clients; assists with the management of events and programs of selected clients; and currently serves as executive director of the National High School Golf Coaches Association. She has over 25 years of experience in sports administration and management, including 14 years with the NCAA. Michelle joined the SMA staff in February 2003.

Pam Nicely, Administrative Coordinator, provides a variety of administrative and support services for SMA clients. Pam received a B.S. in education from Southern Bible College in Houston. She joined the SMA staff in January 2005. |

Kathy Ellis, Marketing Coordinator, provides administrative and marketing support for SMA clients. Kathy has a degree in education from Kansas State University. She joined the SMA staff in February 2006. |

Devon Kirkpatrick, Merchandise Coordinator, provides administrative and sales support for our merchandise business and general administrative assistance for all SMA clients. Devon joined the SMA staff in July 2006. |

John Dehan oversees our sports officiating services for basketball and football on a part-time basis. John is a graduate of Pittsburg State University (KS) and has been a certified official in a number of sports for nearly 25 years. |

Jeff Briley, as a part-time project consultant, oversees several GABL special programs for Pre-K children to 2nd grade. Jeff has been involved in the financial services business for over 30 years. |
