Sports Management and Consulting is our flagship business and has been since the separation from the insurance business in 2000. Our clients have included amateur sports associations, youth sports organizations and leagues, coaches associations, recreation agencies, foundations, and college athletic conferences.
Services include the following:
- Executive Leadership. Coordinate work of volunteer leadership groups – boards and committees – providing advice and counsel on issues under consideration, and assisting with strategic planning efforts.
- Administrative. Manage daily administrative services, including finance and budget; office services; insurance, membership and registration services, and meeting coordination.
- Communication and Marketing. Provide corporate sponsor and advertising planning, management and sales; publishing services; public relations and promotions; media coordination, and website administration.
- Operational. Coordinate operational aspects of programs, events and facilities, to include scheduling of games and practices; scheduling and supervising officials; concession operations; coaches training; rules development, working with volunteer committees, and providing on-site staffing.
Sports Performance and Training Services for athletes of all ages are provided through SMA affiliate, KC Sport Speed (KCSS), located in Lenexa, Kansas. The KCSS Training Center has over 11,000 square feet of indoor turf area for individual and group program services. A variety of programs are offered through camps, group sessions and individual training, including:
- The FAST Program, which stands for Functional Agility and Speed Training, delivers speed, agility, quickness and explosive strength.
- Soccer Speed includes all the components of the Fast Program plus soccer-specific skills.
- Strength and Conditioning focuses on strengthening movements, not muscles, which improve total body strength and conditioning.
- Train to Play is a group-conditioning program designed to be more sport specific and improve athleticism.
- Team Training delivered to teams of 10-14 players, no matter the sport, designed to target areas of need for the entire team.
Sports Merchandise and Apparel. A full range of services is provided for teams, organizations and individuals, including embroidery services, screen-printing and name brands.
- Team Gear Program. Uniforms and accessories for teams of all ages in a variety of sports, including basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, football, lacrosse, hockey and volleyball. SMA is the Official Team Uniform Supplier for:
- Great American Basketball League (KS)
- Football and Cheerleading Club of Johnson County (KS)
- Blue Valley Recreation Commission (KS)
- Cheer Gear Program. Uniforms and accessories for cheer squads, including Kaepa cheer shoes.
- Officials Gear Program. Uniform and accessories for officials of all sports.
- Other. Spirit-wear, t-shirts, sweatshirts and more are available.
